The title isn't a lie when it comes to this tour. Kent is a fantastic tour guide, whose knowledge of the Los Angeles area is only matched by his passion for sharing that knowledge with others. If you like geography, history, (particularly of) film, television, music, or just want to get to know the LA basin a little better, this trip is for you. Beginning by the seaside in Santa Monica and winding your way through the historic Los Angeles up to Beverly hills before returning, the tour really makes you feel like a Los Angeles Ferris Bueller on his day off!
There's so much to see and do, from all the historic film locations, to the Hollywood boulevard in all its glamour, and our personal favourite stop: The Los Angeles Farmers market. Though you only have around thirty minutes to an hour per stop, rest assured you'll see and do plenty. What is also good to know is that the tour is very considerate, particularly toward the neighbourhoods it drives through. Given the locals feelings toward the tourism in the area, this does mean that you won't be getting up close and personal with the Hollywood sign, but rest assured there is a great photo opportunity at the Hollywood boulevard stop.
Tourists visiting LA from abroad, we would highly recommend taking this tour early on into your stay. We took it toward the end of our stay, which made for a great capstone, but you may regret not being able to revisit some of the locations you drive by, especially the La Brea Tar Pits or the surrounding museums. Overall though, this trip definitely hits all the biggest bucket-list items, and the best part is you can spare yourself the trouble of driving through LA or finding parking!
