Explore the countryside outside New York on a day trip to Philadelphia and Lancaster County, home of the Amish people. You'll drive through the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside, tour Philadelphia and its famous Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, and take an ride in an authentic Amish buggy.

Continue on a panoramic tour of Philadelphia that includes the Financial District, Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Historic Philadelphia, and more. Departing the city, you'll see the famous “Rocky Steps,” before continuing east to Lancaster County, the traditional home of the Amish people.

Amish Country

Start your time in Amish country with a ride on an authentic Amish horse-drawn buggy that you through Amish farm country. Learn how this traditional community lives without the benefit of modern technology: no electricity, running water, telephone services, or appliances. After the ride, visit the marketplace where you can shop for handmade arts crafts and products. In the late afternoon depart east for your evening arrival back in NYC.

We're so pleased with this tour, enjoyed it very much. A special thanks to our guide Okai, if I remember the name correctly, he was really professional and friendly. Also thank you to the driver with his nice and smooth driving make this trip so enjoyable. We booked with the same company and a trip to Washington D.C. as well. Totally recommend it.

This is a well conducted tour. Our guide was Okai and worked hard to make our trip totally enjoyable. There was some conflicting information supplied in the itinerary which required a call to sort out., Our issue was the A/C stopped working on the bus. Academy were the bus suppliers. Their back/service was VERY poor and lacking. Most of our trip was in a bus at a temperate in the late 80F (30+C). Academy offered a replacement bus, available hours after our trip was due to finish, at a location well out of our final location. Our advice is to be wary of the bus supplier. Empire tours, the tour suppler was great. Maybe the management of Empire could have done more to support their tour guide
