I was really looking forward to this trip however it was spoiled by the tour guide. Whenever we arrived at a location we would have to ask how long we had at the location and then he would end up hurrying us up and loading us on the bus earlier than the schedule. He was rude to the Amish buggy driver who had to wait for a spot to park the buggy when we arrived back from our buggy ride, telling him we had to hurry and just to unload us where we were standing to which the polite Amish gentleman explained we had to follow procedure and pull up at the designated parking bay. Our tour guide back-chatted him and grumbled, I felt embarrassed to be on his tour. In the end we were hurried along so much during the day that we arrived back in New York an hour ahead of schedule - I assume he had something on that night, his excuse was he wanted to get us back in case we wanted to see a show - No, I paid good money to go on your tour and expected to be gone for the advertised timeframe! Very disappointing, especially as I had also done the Boston day tour and had the same experience. You don't see all of the advertised spots because they rush you so much. I understand they are long day tours but don't advertise you will see sights that you actually only get a glimpse of for 2 minutes if you are lucky!
We were very disappointed to pay $300 per couple and then be crammed into a mini bus. We had nowhere to put our bags and my husband ended up with a sore leg from being crammed in the back.
it is also very frustrating to have interpreters translating in 3 languages.
As for the Amish i would of liked to have seen more of how they actually live it was too touristy for us and not very authentic.
Italian guide very well trained and polite, good transport and beautiful trip!
