Our tour guide Josh was amazing! He was knowledgeable, patient, professional, and connected well to our group. He took questions, memorized everyone's name in the group using cool, and made slight deviations from his script to accommodate us. We watched a short video indoors called the White Tent. Then, Josh went above and beyond to fulfill a last minute request to show us the Liberty Bell, which was not part of the outdoor walking tour experience. He shared great insights about George Washington during the Revolutionary War and Bejamin Franklin's major contributions to American History.
Our group, which were participants in the TRiO Veterans Upward Bound program at Prince George's Community College in Largo, Maryland toured on May 21, 2022, which had a record high temperature of 90 degrees, not an ideal day to do a walking tour, but we stayed the course and remained as hydrated as possible. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, and drinking lots of water! Masks were optional at the time, but bring them just in case.
