Learning to surf with Sandbar Surf School is a lifetime bucket list thing that you will never forget. We are the premier surf school in California's Central Coast and we have been teaching surf lessons here in Pismo Beach since 1996. We have tons of local surf knowledge as well as many of our instructors are world travelers/surfers. We truly love what we do and you will have the best time in the world going with us. Laugh with us, surf with us and maybe even come to one of our bonfires! We would not only love to meet you from wherever in the world you are from, but we promise that your surf experience with us will be the part of the trip that you can't stop talking about in the days to come.

Had an amazing experience at the surf school! The surf teachers are very friendly and I had so much fun that I decided to go a second day. It was my first surf lesson and I enjoyed it a lot. It's worth the money and I would recommend it to amyone who always wanted to surf once! 🖒🤙

My friend and me never surved before. We had an awesome morning in Jonnys surf school and went again the next day. The teachers we're super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it to all types of ages! Chantal

We had a wonderful experience with the Sandbar Surf School. Jonny is so friendly and made the whole experience easy, from booking over the phone to putting our wetsuits on at the van (magic bag for the win!). It was nice that everything we needed was included in the price, including wetsuit, board and instruction (and a great attitude from the staff!). We had a wonderful surf instructor, and the ratio was excellent so we had one instructor for the two of us taking the lesson. We are beginners, and she helped us figure out how to stand up, and even how to pick out which waves were good for surfing. She was really encouraging, enthusiastic and friendly, and we really enjoyed our two hours in the water! We really appreciated that they gave us an opportunity to do a warm up on land and get used to the water temperature before heading in for our lesson. When we come back to Pismo we will definitely check out the Sandbar Surf School again and keep practicing! We can't say enough nice things about Jonny and his crew. A great, fun way to spend the morning!
