Learning to surf with Sandbar Surf School is a lifetime bucket list thing that you will never forget. We are the premier surf school in California's Central Coast and we have been teaching surf lessons here in Pismo Beach since 1996. We have tons of local surf knowledge as well as many of our instructors are world travelers/surfers. We truly love what we do and you will have the best time in the world going with us. Laugh with us, surf with us and maybe even come to one of our bonfires! We would not only love to meet you from wherever in the world you are from, but we promise that your surf experience with us will be the part of the trip that you can't stop talking about in the days to come.

A group of me and my 3 friends got amazing surf lessons from Heidi. It was our first time surfing and we all got up and caught a few waves. She was very helpful and patient instructor. We have gone back several times since then to rent surf boards. Very friendly. Highly recommend. Definitely the best surf school on the Central Coast.

Surf equip rentals are the least expensive in town and you just can't beat their customer service. True Story: I needed a last minute wet suit and Heidi not only had one available, but brought it to the beach for me. She also met me again and picked up the suit. Absolutely amazing service!

My two teenage daughters and my husband took surf lessons this past August on Pismo Beach with Sandbar Surf Company, who I found on-line. This was our very first time to California and surf lessons was one of the things our girls really wanted to try. We had originally signed up for the early afternoon class, but our travel plans did not allow enough time for us to get to Pismo in time, so Johnny recommended the early evening class with the sunset in the background (he said you might also see some dolphins in the background during the sunset). Johnny and his assistant (whose name escapes me) were great in teaching my family how to surf. It's a lot of hard work and exhausting, but they were great and understanding of our lack of ability, and were eager to show us what we needed to know about surfing. We also did see some dolphins in the distance. I didn't hurt that I got some GREAT pictures of the family surfing, with the sunset in the background. Highly recommended.
