This was my first time in NY and the experience with this driver and company was horrific! I am still in disbelief at what transpired during my interaction with the driver. First, we got into his very hot, muggy, and smelly sedan and I had to request that the a/C be turned on. When we got to the hotel he tells me I owe and additional $10.17 plus tip and I inquire why because I paid almost $70 already when i pre-planned for this trip. He tells me it's for tolls and I should've read the fine print....not in a nice way. I had a $20 bill but it was in the trunk inside my bag inside my suitcase (very inconveniently located), so I tell him I don't have cash only a card and he gets an attitude! He calls the dispatcher who tries to get me to give my card info over the phone (on speaker) but I didn't feel comfortable so I asked him if he had a card machine or if I could enter it online. He got furious and calls back the dispatch saying I am complaining about the toll payment and don't want to pay him. The dispatcher explains that he can just hit the drop off button on his phone and then it will give the option to pay the additional fees. Unfortunately, he didn't know how to use the technology so he got even more upset that he was missing out on another ride so he continued to express his frustration to my husband and I. We told him we just give him cash but that I would have to get it out of my suitcase. We pull up to the hotel again (because he had to circle around there was no space to park the first time). I get a $20 bill and give it to him. He tries to give me 10 back and I said no, just give me 5 back. I was giving him a tip anyway...even after he was very rude to me husband and I! I get in the hotel and am attempting to check in when I get a call from the dispatcher. You won't believe this part. She says to me, Ms. Epps, How would you like to pay the remaining balance of $10.17 for the tolls? My driver says you did not pay him. I explain to her that I gave him cash and a tip and she says that he's saying I didn't pay him and then she connects him on the line(please listen to the call!). He comes on the line and lies boldly about the transaction with me on the line. Since I'm trying to check in to the hotel I let my husband get on the phone to explain to the dispatcher again as my witness. He said that he explained the same thing again and the dispatcher told him not to worry about it. This was one of the worst experiences of my life and such a horrible way to start my first weekend in NY! I am going to leave a review about this experience and encourage everyone I know never to use this company. Please review this and do better.
