The city tour could have been more detailed and history could have been more factual- less biased. We enjoyed Pearl Harbor exhibits. A sobering experience bit well worth it

Ama was great! True Hawaiian story teller and we learned so much about the people of Hawaii and Honolulu. If you are a planner like me, just know that Ama will reach out the night before to schedule the time, but you’re still booked. I would expect to be picked up somewhere between 8 and 9 AM. I cannot recommend the tour enough.

As much as I appreciated our local guide’s natural enthusiasm and energy, this private tour was incredibly misleading and misrepresented. After in depth research and going through the reviews, we specifically chose this tour with the understanding that “private tour of Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona” meant exactly that. The real tour couldn’t be further from the description and I’m incredibly disappointed that this has not been addressed in guest reviews. This also leads me to believe there is dishonesty with not only the operator but the guests as well. We have done several TripAdvisor private tours domestically and internationally and this was the one first time we truly felt gypped. At $233/per person, you get a “private shuttle” that picks you up, summary of life on the island, reckless driving navigating Waikiki traffic, dropped off at Pearl Harbor for 1 hr to roam around at your leisure and boat ride to see USS Arizona (approx 15mins total, as it turns out you can reserve for under $30), picked up and random tour in Chinatown and downtown Honolulu for 30mins. There were no other tickers or attractions included. From our perspective this tour should be updated to reflect as described and not misrepresented thinking you were getting an entire private tour of Pearl Harbor sites and areas impacted in 1941. We are middle-aged professionals and have the upmost respect for all industries and gig workers but this tour was incredibly misleading and in full transparency, not worth the $480 for 2 ppl. The experience left an extremely sour and anticlimactic impression and would not recommend at this price. To this guide operator, please update your marketing description and package to align with what you’re truly offering. This experience was the biggest regret of our trip.
