We took a Sidecar Winery Tour in in honor of our 33rd Wedding Anniversary. The experience was a satisfying one. My wife enjoyed our anniversary outing; and Linda had an opportunity to visit wineries new to her. The driver was a pleasant man; and the sidecar ride was novel, and fun even if a little bumpy at times.
However, the value of the experience in relationship to the financial cost left a little to be desired. Our first stop at Bella Vista was a non-experience except for a nice view from their hillside. We did not see the interior of the winery, and there was no introductory presentation given to us about the winery to make us feel there was anything special there for us. We left Bella feeling that there was little reason for us to return to this winery in the future.
The highlight of our tour was our second destination at Summerset Winery. This is a cozy, friendly place to visit. They have a wonderful tour and presentation at this vineyard, and they made wine tasting an integral part of their tour. My wife Linda and I enjoyed our experience at Summerset, and we will definitely be back.
The last stop on the Sidecar Wine Tour was at our departure point- Akash Vinyard. It really felt like a drop off. We were given a voucher to taste at Akash . Our driver took our picture; and then he gave us a goodby to fend for ourselves inside. There were no remarks about the vineyard, and no tour provided at the winery. The Akash Vinyard stop left us a little cold.
