Have a magical evening together

This is the ultimate paniolo experience, and we’re confident you’ll have a special and unforgettable evening. You set off on your horseback ride in the cooler portion of the day and travel under sunset skies on your way to our signature mountain lookout point. Your guide will share stories about the ranch and the surrounding areas along the way and point out some of the sights, including peacefully grazing cattle, ocean views, and maybe even wild pigs!

Once at the lookout, you’ll enjoy a fresh, locally catered meal, kept warm for you by the campfire. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic view as you dine in a quiet, private setting. If you’d like, you can even roast some marshmallows and chat around the fire before heading back down. When it’s time to saddle up again, you’ll be riding home in the light of dusk. It’s a special way to experience Oahu’s North Shore and the perfect addition to your Hawaiian adventure.

Chose this Ranch as our anniversary gift, as it offered a private riding tour and dinner atop the range overlooking the Malaekahana area of the North Shore. It's been a few years since I've ridden a horse, and my husband's first time riding, so our handler, Kali, was very patient and explained step by step on how to mount, ride, and dismount. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The ride was peaceful as we made good conversation along the trail. Kali was also kind enough to take a few pics of us along the way. Jay and Tea met us at the top for dinner and entertained us during our campfire and s'mores time. This is a must-do if you're looking to enjoy the outdoors on horseback. We will definitely be back! Thank you to Gunsmoke Ranch for making this a memorable anniversary for us!

My wife and I did the sunset and dinner ride at Gunstock Ranch on 25 May 2019. We had an incredible time with phenomenal views and an even better staff to guide us along on our horseback getaway. Michael and Angus were excellent as our guides through the ranch, keeping us very entertained and telling us all about the history while giving us the space we needed to be alone and romantic. The views as we continued riding were incredible until we reached our dinner area where we were greeted by a beautifully set rustic dinner table along with our wonderfully prepared dinner. (The short rib is amazing!) Off to the side of our little dinner spot overlooking the beautiful north shore was a little swing we loved as well as a fire and some benches set up by Mateah. We had our romantic dinner alone and when we were done our guides came back out along with Mateah where we sat around the fire and got some stuff to make s’mores which were real good! Mateah- another phenomenal part of the staff at Gunstock Ranch brought a guitar and began playing and singing for us which left my wife and I in awe as she has a beautiful voice, again setting a great mood which carried on as we saddled up once again for the ride back which was full of again great views and a breathtaking sunset. Thank you Gunstock Ranch for giving my wife and I the perfect anniversary.

I love Gunstock Ranch! 10/10 would recommend to a friend. I've done several rides at the ranch. The first time I went I wasn't very confident at riding. But the guides are very knowledgeable, helpful, and definitely love the horses. (which were all happy and well taken care of.) By my latest ride I felt comfortable on a horse and actually loved to do their advance ride! They have amazing steady horses that are called "bomb proof" horses. Which means they will take very good care of you if you've never ridden horses before. I loved every single horse I rode! The guides were right when they say "horses are big animals with minds of their own" in their safety briefing but these big animals love where they are and what they do. They honestly just want to do their very best to take care of you. My favorite mare is Purdy! Shaka, Alii, and Rondo are also some of my favorites! The rides are nose-to-tail but I was informed that it is for the safety of guests and HORSES. Which I highly appreciated knowing. The wranglers do a great job of keeping conversation but also letting us just listen to nature! I've even seen a few wild pigs on our tour! The views are amazing and I love the sunset ride which includes food catered from Pounder's Restaurant and an actual campfire on top of the hill. I saw a lot of kids come to the ranch as well. Many were scared to ride the horse but by the time they came back from their ride they wouldn't want to get off!! The staff is very friendly from the moment I walked up every time I go. They take very good care of you and do everything they can to keep you comfortable and safe. I will definitely be coming back over and over again. Thank you Gunstock!!!!
