Escape from the crowded tourist areas for a private, 90-minute surf lesson for a group of 3-to-5 people near Lahaina, Maui. Choose from an early-, mid-, or late-morning time frame. This surf session will focus on water safety, proper surf technique, surfing style, and etiquette. The experienced, professional instructor guarantees students will stand up, catch a wave, and leave the beach as a certified surfer. All lessons are private so they will never combine guests from separate parties. All the necessary equipment — rash guard, state-of-the-art soft-top board, and reef shoes — included.

We were in Maui for a week and did a few of the different excursions (snorkelling, helicopter tour) that were recommended, and our private group surf lesson was by far our favourite activity. Jason was our instructor and he was extremely helpful and friendly. He made everyone feel comfortable, and it was relatively easy for all of us to get up on the board (which is definitely a sign of a good instructor!). We all had a great time, and will definitely be back for more lessons the next time we're in Maui.

I booked a group of five (myself and 4 kids) the afternoon before the scheduled lesson. Booking online was a snap. Met our instructors -- Kane and Taylor -- at a beach across from the 12 mile marker, just south of Lahaina. 10 minutes of instruction on land, and we were off to the waves. Even though none of the folks in my group had ever surfed before, we all got up on the board on our first try -- even me at 52 years old! The instructors were top-notch -- knowledgeable, professional, friendly, enthusiastic and hands-on. A photographer was on hand to take photos of our group while on land and out in the water on our boards. A perfect morning, and a memory that my kids and I will cherish for a lifetime. I highly recommend this experience for anyone wanting to try surfing.

My family and I had an amazing 1 1/2 hours of surfing. We enjoyed the instructors, their were patient, helpful, and encouraging. We got some pictures, and this was the highlight of our vacation in Hawaii.
