Escape from the crowded tourist areas for a private, 90-minute surf lesson for two near Lahaina, Maui. Choose from an early-, mid-, or late-morning time frame. This surf session will focus on water safety, proper surf technique, surfing style, and etiquette. The experienced, professional instructor guarantees students will stand up, catch a wave, and leave the beach as a certified surfer. All lessons are private so they will never combine guests from separate parties. All the necessary equipment — rash guard, state-of-the-art soft-top board, and reef shoes — included.

My friend and I took a private lesson with Kane that was just great. I'm an experienced surfer but my friend is not. Kane juggled our different skill levels expertly - providing me with great tips and advice and giving my friend the 101. Before our lesson, we hit a bit of a snafu, but Tide went above and beyond to ensure that we still had the best possible experience. While the cost is higher than other lessons, the private setting (both in terms of lessons and the beach we went to) make the cost well worth it. Thank you Tide and Kane for such a great time!

It was the first surfing lesson for me and my brother in-law. I had gone out myself once before without lessons, but this certainly made for a better experience. Jason was very knowledgeable and a great teacher. He did a great job trying to relate the skills to our own previous experiences. Awesome experience I would highly recommend to anyone.

Rivers by the Sea is AWESOME! Jason is the best surf instructor. He is very patient, friendly and has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend him and the private lessons. Our kids were exhausted, but had smiles on their faces. Awesome memories!!!
