This was so much better than I was expecting! I'm a history buff, and while no expert on piracy, I've managed to read several historical books on the subject. With that, I can say that if you're interested in history, this is worth your time. The docents, dressed as pirates, are very helpful and knowledgeable. I'll be honest, when I saw the pirate garb, I was not expecting the latter. What impressed me was, not only our docents, but the richness of the history represented, the quality of the displays and artifacts. The centerpiece of the museum's exhibits relate to the discovery and history of the Whydah, a slave ship captured and turned into a pirate ship. I appreciated that the museum included rich information about the political, social and economic forces that facilitated piracy. I also appreciated that there was rich information about the day-to-day life of a pirate and the various roles that they played onboard and during battle. We spent a little over 2 hours there. The docents make it entertaining, the exhibits make it educational. Well done, you guys. Thank you.
