The highlight of our day! This is a great activity for a family. We were a family of 4 including adult children and it was great! The story of Black Sam and Maria was beautifully told while also bringing to life the adventure of pirates and lost treasure! The information is given in multiple ways (readings, knowledgeable docents, artifacts and recreations of events in the lives of Black Sam. As a parent I loved it. As a teacher I think it is a wonderful way to share this information. The information posters had a lot if information in a small amount of words, making it easy for young or low readers to enjoy and learn. We are already planning a return and a trip to their sister site on the cape.

Really fantastic and informative exhibit! We learned a lot about both slavery and piracy, and I was especially impressed with the focus on humanizing enslaved people and people who went into piracy. The staff was outstanding - very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We went in on a whim, thinking this would be a way to kill and hour, but we left excited and amazed and planning to come again!

We stumbled onto this and decided to give it a try. Didn’t expect to see real artifacts from Black Sam and to get a personal tour. This is a family business and the love and devotion to the work was evident. I’m so glad we found this!
