Julie, the owner along with her husband Will, is amazing. She was very communicative and replied to emails very quickly. She’s a total pro.
We were three adults plus a 19, 16, 13, 11 and a 9 year old. I would think that for any guide seeing this age lineup they would be concerned - we were concerned and we’re their parents! These guides (Sebastian, Yann and Phil) never missed a beat and were completely on their game. They were quick to learn our names, they learned our risk tolerances and asked lots of questions to be sure to create our perfect experience.
The meals were excellent and each was unique and offered something for the adventurous and also something for the less adventurous. We were awakened each morning to the smell of Peet’s coffee and breakfast. There were juices for the kids.
There were unexpected desserts and delicious ‘after a day rafting’ snacks and drinks -juice for the kids, beer and wine for the adults. We brought beverages of our own, too, but if we hadn’t they had supplies available.
The bottom line is that we ran the entire spectrum of expectations and our three guides (and Julie) exceeded them all. Even for kids who are ‘connected’ at every moment, the inability to use electronics was met with resignation at first, and then they stopped thinking about it and just made up games and played like we used to. Jumping off rocks, playing card games, exploring etc. (we brought cards and pool football. Best of all, even the most energetic of our kids was physically exhausted by the end of the trip.
We highly recommend this multi day trip for families with kids -especially older ones (9+) who can take the individual/tandem duckie rafts during the day. That made all the difference in our experience.
