GO ON THIS TOUR!!! (but try to go in the morning in the summer because it will get toasty in the afternoon). My husband and I took our 12 year old on the half day tour guided by Scott and it was AWESOME! I really didn't know what to expect but found along the way that the tour goes through town and over/through incredible geological areas (don't want to give away any spoilers). You should know that Scott, a high school teacher and football coach, is the BEST and you'll have a great time and learn a lot so try to get on his jeep. Our 12 year old has some significant ADHD and a four hour history/geology/important/significant sights tour full of interesting facts isn't at the top of his list - normally - but Scott kept him engaged the entire trip and our kiddo said he loved the tour. TIP - even on the morning tour, it gets warm so longer shorts/capri pants are better on the vinyl. You probably won't need a hat with the canopy but sunscreen and sunglasses are a must. There are two cup holders in the back but it can get bouncy when you go off road and we were glad our son's water bottle had a carabiner to clip on to an unused seatbelt. My husband brought the big camera and got great shots - Scott stopped any time we asked and even took our photo at some key spots. I told my parents about the tour and they are planning on going this fall when they visit Colorado. Great for kids, adults and grandparents (careful, though, with balance issues/low muscle tone as much of the trek is off road and some 4-wheel technical spots that will toss you around a bit which, while super fun, may be too much for folks with balance/low muscle tone issues) - highly recommend.
