I would highly recommend the San Andreas Fault Offroad Tour. Not only did we learn a lot about the San Andreas Fault (which was spectacular and not what we expected to see), we also learned a lot about the surrounding areas from the Salton Sea to Palm Springs. Our tour guide, Kolin, was top notch -- extremely knowledgeable and very personable. The tour does go off-road on a few occasions, so expect some bumpiness and take the back-problem warning seriously. You'll have opportunities for some breath-taking photos and you'll get the opportunity to do something few people get to do -- see the southern end of the San Andreas fault up close and personal.

The tour company owner sent the tour out even though I was the only person who signed up. My guide answered every question and provided so much knowledge. Even though you go off road, it’s not too rough. She even added the Salten Sea to the sights. Several times she asked if I needed a rest room stop.
