The idea is a good one…see 25 miles of the city and major sites without needing to drive or find parking. Our experience was less than great. It was a beautiful day and a holiday weekend. We got a late start because I needed medical care in the morning. We got on at Old Town and rode the trolley for a while, and got off at Barrio Logan. It is the only stop that doesn’t have a sign, or a bench, and one of the few without a tour person there. When we got back to the stop we waited the expected 20 minutes for the next trolley. And then another 20 minutes before one came. No one got off, and there was only one empty seat, so we couldn’t get on. So we were essentially stranded, about as far away from the start of our tour as we could be. There’s nothing interesting to see near the trolley stop. There’s no shade, and nowhere to sit. We waited another almost 30 minutes for the next trolley. By then we were afraid to get off anywhere else for fear that we could not get back on another trolley before they made their last run of the day. So we saw the whole route from the trolley, with the exception of our one stop. It’s a good way to see the city, but on a crowded day it’s not a good day to hop off and expect to get back on quickly. Very disappointing.
