There is a reason that the Mangrove Tunnels of Lido Key are a must-do experience when visiting the Gulf Coast. We launch from Ted Sperling Nature Park (190 Taft Dr Sarasota FL) which has clean restrooms, a rinsing shower, and shaded picnic tables. Our amazing local guides from Sea Life Kayak Adventures take you on a tour of Little Sarasota Bay, where you may see manatees, dolphins, a variety of birds and sea life...then finish up in the famous mangrove tunnels, a beautiful canopy that meanders thru an island. The tour usually goes around 2 hours, but we aren't on a strict schedule, so please allow for an extra half hour. We are located just minutes from downtown Sarasota, 20 minutes from Siesta Key, and a half hour from Anna Maria Island and Bradenton (add time for traffic during high season. We meet a HALF HOUR before our tours)

My daughter, grandson and I did the Sea Life kayak tour. It was cool and breezy! Our guides were Ian and Rob. They were informative, knowledgeable and added a bit of humor to it all. I was a bit worried when we first headed out with the wind, but we got into the mangroves and it was wonderous and calm. Most of the tour you're in very shallow water, some even getting grounded. Highly recommend for all ages.

We experienced a beautiful afternoon on the water with Ian our guide pointing out birds and plants indigenous to the area. It was thrilling to spot 4 manatee… which Ian pointed out along with giving info about the manatee.The mangrove tunnels were relaxing! My husband had an issue with his seat… Ian was right there to help! Loved his jokes!!

Great experience! Rob was a knowledgeable, helpful, and great tour guide. This was my 11 year old son's first solo kayaking trip and it was perfect for him. The whole kayaking trip was beautiful and while the mangrove tunnels required some more precise navigating, it was really neat to go through them (gorgeous to see). Will definitely do again on our next trip!
