The experience of both, bus tour and riverboat tour is extraordinary—especially for the low price. However,
1) the riverboat tour was not as in-depth about Savannah’s history or provided extensive information beyond what we experienced on the bus…yet, it was a nice boat ride.
2) The bus driver ruined the upbeat mood for everyone on the bus after a lady, excitedly, explained her experiences with her children and me. The bus driver, at one point, pulled over in an attempt to put us off her bus, because (even though she had a loud intercom speaker system and this lady was on the very last seat on a 64 passenger bus) she could not hear HERSELF talk. Everyone was classroom quiet after that.
Honestly, one reason this lady may have spoken loudly is because the intercom was so loud. I could not really understand one over the other, my husband interpreted what was happening.
I considered the bus driver rude and unnecessarily inciting issues we did not have to endure.
I suggest the bus driver(s) have a serious in-briefing introduction outlining their expectations prior to departing—when people are paying undivided attention. I had no idea she was asking us to be quiet until she pulled over and offered to throw us off her boat.
