chesneesc,
We are very sorry to hear you were disappointed in the culinary tour of downtown Charleston. As to the restaurants and stops that we partner with all have a specific reason for them to be featured on the tour including the food along the way. Perhaps those explanations were not conveyed properly and that will be addressed with your guide, but rest assured the claim that these places have nothing to do with the Charleston culinary scene is absolutely not true. Over the past thirty years, Charleston has worked its way to competing as one of the top culinary meccas in the country. True "chain" restaurants do not last in the historic district. In fact, any restaurant or specialty store that does not have its place in the city closes it door rather quickly. River Street Sweets may have started in Savannah, but its has maintained its location in the Charleston Market since 1984 and is still going strong (which by the way is older than most "Charleston" restaurants). Perhaps this tour was just not for you. Feel free to reach out to our Tour Guide Manager, Andrew Kuhn, at
[email protected] to discuss the tour more and how we can make this right to you. Thanks again for the feedback and for visiting Charleston.
