A relaxing, no-stress few hours floating down a scenic part of the Rio Grande with a couple of very gentle rapids to perk us up every now and then. The banks of the river are lush and green with thick tall grasses and cottonwoods, and above them the valley walls shoot up hundreds of feet in rugged layers of black rock—dramatic! The sun was warm and the water chilly but not off-putting. James, our guide, guided us expertly down the river and through the rapids, requesting us now and then to paddle a bit. He was a fount of river lore and hydraulics data and kept us entertained, informed, and safe. Highly recommended.
