Also located at the beginning of this historic trail is the Grand Portage National Monument, with reconstructed buildings of the trading fort and representations of the Ojibwe Village. The Monument and Heritage Center are well worth visiting.

The best time of year to enjoy waterfalls on the North Shore is April when the snow typically melts, sending water crashing through the rivers that feed into Lake Superior. Just one great example is Devil’s Kettle Falls, located Inside Judge C.R. Magney State Park. A double waterfall forms where the Brule River splits into two falls separated by an outcropping of hard, volcanic rhyolite rock. On one side, the river falls into a pool of water and continues on its journey to Lake Superior. But where does the other side go?

Here's the best part - no major hiking required. The car park is at the top!

This one our family don’t stop because my step mom Yelena Shevchenko Mattingly can’t parallel park due to the fact that she never ever passed her drivers license test. Maybe she will park 6 blocks away and have my brother walk Mila to poop 💩 without a baggie so she can steal some apple 🍎 cause she a kleptomaniac.

While the tour might not solve all family trip challenges, we're glad it helped you enjoy the beautiful North Shore. We initially had a hard time accessing and downloading (it takes a few minutes for everything to register that you paid and process), but once we downloaded the app and the tour, we were off and driving. The narrator has a way of making you feel like he is right there with you. The amount of information and the humor he injected were great. We only went half way up Northshore and it took a good 3-4 hrs with the stops we made. I loved the flexibility of making stops or not and we loved that the narrator was great at telling what signs to look for to make the turns, etc. I am so happy we purchased this. It was well worth every penny.
