We visited Key West in September 2022, and the main attraction for us was this very tour. I have always wanted to see sharks in the wild (I have been fascinated by them since the age of 8, and I am now 50!) - this tour does NOT disappoint in any way.
The father and son team are fantastic - they have a fun sense of humour and are extremely knowledgeable, offering little titbits of information about the area, the islands off the coast, the sea itself and of course the sharks themselves.
Shortly after reaching the area, the Lemon sharks appeared, and within a couple of minutes there were loads of them, all 4-6 feet long. The bait was splashed in and out of the water to get the sharks interested, and then feeding began! A magnificent spectacle. Seeing what a bunch of hungry sharks will do to half a Barracuda is quite incredible. They were jumping out of the water to get the fish and pushing each other out of the way to get a bite. The feeding process was repeated twice more, with the crew rotating the people on the boat so everyone got a good look at these fabulous beasts whilst they feed.
On the way back, the Captain knew exactly where to go so that we could actually see Dolphins in the wild as an added bonus to the trip.
I would LOVE to do this again. Sadly I am 4500 miles away and my bank account is less full than it was! Maybe in a few years...
