Even with rain and lots of mud, we had a fantastic tour! We were given an overview of how to drive the CanAm Maverick 750, as well as outfitted with helmet, goggles, and gloves. Since it was raining and muddy, plastic rain jackets and pants were provided to those not having them. Keith led the way, and John brought up the rear of our group of 4 machines. We thank Keith for showing us exactly where to drive on the trails to avoid the deepest ruts and washouts. We drove in 16 miles with stops along the way to look at the scenery. Our final stop was at the 16 mile mark where we overlooked the most gorgeous valley and treed hillsides. We had the good fortune to have the rain stop and the sun peek out. John talked about the plants and trees and shared a bit of history along the way. We made our way back to our starting point and where it all began. It was a bit of a nail-biter for us first timers on a SxS, and being seniors, as well. But, we felt pretty safe the entire time. And, it was also the most exhilarating and exciting tour, and a unique way to get “down and dirty” (literally) with this part of Alaska!! Many thanks to Paul, John, and Keith!
