Our tour was canceled when we arrived at the pier for the excursion. We were in Sitka and rushed from the downtown area back to the pier to kayak only to have the tour operator say it was canceled due to wind. Weather cleared up ten minutes later. Wish they would have communicated with us earlier because we would have stayed in downtown Sitka.

We understand how frustrating it can be to make arrangements and travel to the pier, only to have the tour canceled upon arrival. Weather forecasts and conditions can change rapidly, and in this case, it sometimes seems as the wind has cleared up temporarily while on shore, however we use years of experience and multiple different weather forecasting sources to make the safest decision for our guests and staff and are forced to make decisions that can be unpopular but are necessary to keep everyone safe. At our company, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our guests, and decisions to cancel tours are made with this in mind. We rely on weather reports and local expertise to assess the conditions and make the best judgment for our guests' safety. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we appreciate your suggestion to improve our communication process. We will take this into consideration and work on enhancing our communication methods to ensure that our guests are promptly informed of any changes or cancellations.
