I went there at 9:00 from my hotel about 200 yards away because it was convenient and I might never come back to Atlanta again; good call. I’m not a true brand loyal Coke drinker, nor am I a collector of anything other than UCLA memorabilia, but I am a historian, so this iconic brand is rich in history and it showed virtually everywhere. I saw many wonderful print media with hundreds of sports and entertainment stars, as well as other famous celebrities promoting Coke in some way, shape, or form. The short film brought tears to my eyes when I thought how much COVID had decimated that former reality. I also liked being reminded that it’s the 50th anniversary of “I’d like to teach the world to sing (in perfect harmony).” The tasting room was super cool, with weird flavors such as the one favored by a billion Chinese (carbonated BBQ sauce…make that your last one, I dare you!). Finally, the gift shop made me giddy, and I spent money like a drunken sailor. You could easily drop a grand in there; I went $300+ and felt lucky. The admission price is not a barrier, it’s an invitation to get funneled to the ultimate payoff, but most won’t mind.
