My road trip this summer was all about rail bikes and having driven 700 miles to do the Railbikes on the Noyo, at the last minute I just couldn't part with $600 Cdn (they charge singles for both seats, but don't give you the second sandwich). The ticket seller couldn't say what was so marvellous about the ride to justify the preposterous price, and although they forbid dogs, couldn't be bothered to refer me to a doggy daycare. The ticket seller seemed to think I should have made a reservation online in advance despite no mobile data on 99% of the west coast, a tentative travel schedule, and the danger of having your credit card compromised over WiFi. I ended up doing the Pudding Creek outing with my dog, but what a waste of my time.
