We felt the train ride was rather overpriced, $50/person to go 3 5 miles up and back was rather steep. The recorded commentary was good, but in reality, you don't see the Redwoods until you're almost at the end of the line.
Our main recommendation, please put secure metal railings on the portable ramp that passengers must use in order to get off the train and onto the observation deck. If you are handicapped, prone to dizziness or have vertigo, that plank could freak you out. There's quite a drop off and it gave us pause. Just an FYI!
