This 2 hour round trip will take you from the Willits valley floor to the highest point on our rail line. During this trip you will pass through Tunnel #2 and descend into the redwood-thick Noyo River Canyon – an amazing ecological wonderland, and an excellent opportunity to discover the mighty giants that made Mendocino County famous.

The train will stop briefly at Crowley while you enjoy the splendor of one of the oldest and most iconic trees along our route. The Wolf Tree was so named for the large growth off of one side – woodsman called these wolf trees because they choke out smaller trees and underbrush. Passengers are able to get off the train during our stop at Crowley, to better enjoy the views.

You'll make the trip to Crowley on board one of our historic Diesel-Electric engines.

My wife and I road the Skunk train - Wolf Tree Turn and man did we have fun. This was a great experience and well worth the coast. Traveling into the Redwoods via slow train is a trip back in time, that's filled with mystical views. Giant Redwoods abound and getting there while listening to Conductor Malakai sing his train songs was magical too.

This is the train that goes to nowhere. No entertainment, no dossier, not much of anything but riding on a train. On the return trip they brought back musicians and their equipment from playing the night before. All the equipment was stacked on the open-air car and there was little room for the paying customers to stand out there. Also there is no smoking on the train, but the musicians were smoking anyway, which was very irritating to me, since I was a paying customer.

A very nice relaxing train ride through gorgeous scenery. The conductor was super nice and friendly and he made the trip enjoyable.
