This 2 hour round trip will take you from the Willits valley floor to the highest point on our rail line. During this trip you will pass through Tunnel #2 and descend into the redwood-thick Noyo River Canyon – an amazing ecological wonderland, and an excellent opportunity to discover the mighty giants that made Mendocino County famous.

The train will stop briefly at Crowley while you enjoy the splendor of one of the oldest and most iconic trees along our route. The Wolf Tree was so named for the large growth off of one side – woodsman called these wolf trees because they choke out smaller trees and underbrush. Passengers are able to get off the train during our stop at Crowley, to better enjoy the views.

You'll make the trip to Crowley on board one of our historic Diesel-Electric engines.

We could call Mr. Skunk's Magic Christmas Tree Train the Happy Christmas Train. Everyone enjoyed it so much, young and old. Seeing the entire train filled with smiling faces was so refreshing. The whole experience was such a pleasure and the entire staff, from check-in throughout the train ride were all so delightful. The music was great, with such enthusiasm and talent. The ambience and the personal attention made everyone feel good and in a holiday spirit. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Charming ride. Especially good for families. The children on board seemed to be having a great time. The staff is wonderful, though we did not visit Mr. Skunk at the end of the ride

This was our second “tour”, and we had a blast. We took the Magical Christmas Train from Willits. They took so many pains to make it jolly, and it really, really was. Such wholesome fun. We recommend it for everyone. And Willits is a good day trip. It has a nice museum, a perfect used book store, a great coffee shop, a toy store, movie theater, and a nice family cafe.
