I read reviews in advance of this trip, and glad I did. I wasn't surprised that my flight was shortened to 30 minutes due to weather, and that was okay. It's still breath taking. I bought the video, but managed to take great IG worthy videos to post before getting back that day.
I also knew that there were minimal plans around food, so I planned with packed snacks. I was surprised we weren't given more verbal instruction around how and when to look for food, or warnings about how long between things.
I also didn't realize that by being a heli flyer, the rest of my group would head to the canyon before me, and have more opportuntiy to stand in lines to get into the buildings. Being this trip is in March of 2021, some restrictions seem to continue to impact capcity. There were long lines to get into every building, even for a restroom.
It was a cold windy day, and by the time I returned to my group on the rim, I had 45 minutes to see the view, use a bathroom, and find a late lunch. It didn't work out, and "lunch" became an under supplied gas station an hour after leaving the canyon.
Still, overall, great trip. Mostly because I anticipated some hang ups, and was okay with managing them. But pack a full lunch if you're flying.
