This tour was great and Tracy is the best guide! He was so knowledgeable and genuinely friendly, upbeat, and thoughtful. He not only gave us great information throughout the tour but also answered many side questions and left me feeling I had learned a ton about Arizona. (He even let me pepper him with general questions about the state's history as well as more specific follow-ups, and he could talk about many subjects, including not just the basic facts about the landscape and how it came to be settled, but also fun stories about the history vs. fiction of the Wild West.) The full day can be pretty tiring but I think it's worth it if you've come to Scottsdale/Phoenix and don't have a car or want to spend the day driving yourself. Tracy was on point with finding us the good clean bathrooms and avoiding the apocalyptic crowd that descends on Sedona in the afternoon--as well as knowing when *not* to talk when everyone was sleeping. And he was good at sneaking the van up for extra photos and close drop-off. I'm writing this review to give Tracy props and remind people you should tip your tour guide especially if he took so much care of you the whole way, even just talking to everyone and getting to know them in downtime! I would do another Detour tour as I really gained an appreciation for this state that I never had before. The small tour feels less tour-ish and the state is beautiful! (I can also mention that this trip felt perfectly nice to do solo and the small group was inviting without being too much.)
