Did the Sonoma Segway tour during a recent trip to wine country with friends, we are still talking about how much fun this was! It's not hard to learn how, and it is soooo much fun! Gerardo was our guide, he was very informative and also really nice. We got a historical tour, went to a winery, and got a tour of the local cheese factory (yum). It was such a blast, we didn't want to stop riding. You will love this, I guarantee it!!

The charming town of Sonoma, just an hour north of San Francisco, is a delightful stop on the way to Napa Valley. Tree lined streets, an old tyme theatre, and a central courthouse give the feeling of life in the early 1900's. There is the usual bustle of hurried lives but a lovely rose garden to remind you to take the time to enjoy life. On this early Fall afternoon, many were resting under the trees with a good book or a good friend. We decided to do the Sonoma Segway tour of local wineries and a cheese factory. Our guide was excellent in getting us comfortable on our unique means of transport. We were all quickly in line like baby ducks following Dad to see the historic homes on bike trails that follow the old railroad tracks. Then, a little more rural trip took us to Buena Vista winery, the longest operating "vino" establishment in the valley. We capped our tour with a tasty visit to Vella Cheese factory where we had a lesson in cheese making and some delicious samples. Wishing to prolong our stay, we wandered the shops around the town square and eventually drove on with a trunk full of treasures.

We have been to Sonoma many times and wanted to try something different and Segway tours was what we decided on. Segways are easy to use and we were all up and running in about 15 minutes. We got to see Sonoma through the eyes of someone who has grown up in the area and truly loves it. We of course were taken to a winery and as much as I enjoy wine tasting I would have to say the Vella Cheese tour was the highlight for me, great cheese and really great people. Thanks Hunt for a memorable experience.
