Known around the world as the home of NASA Mission Control, International Space Station Mission Control and astronaut training, guests are taken behind the scenes to see NASA Johnson Space Center.

This is a learning center for adults and children. As a retired teacher, I was impressed with the hands on activities and emphasis on STEM. For me it was a great learning experience as well. Great displays of historical artifacts of early space exploration (Gemini and Apollo), current space shuttle and International Space Station exhibits, and exhibits of future projects including travel to Mars and a tram ride to the new Orion facilities. I most enjoyed the tram and tour to the Astronaut Training Facility and Rocket Park.

Visited the centre at first opening, lots of school children running around, perhaps visit the centre about midday when the children have either gone or calmed down. The tram ride was a waste of time took you to various parts of the centre which were just building. The highlight was the mission control centre for the Apollo missions. Great to see and experience where history was made. Make sure you book your spot when you first enter the centre as spaces are limited. Also sat in on 'meet an astronaut' interesting to hear his experiences and personal background but question time was cut short for some reason which was disappointing. Overall interesting.

If your in the Houston area I would really encourage you to stop by and visit, is it a must see. For Houston I'd say, given the history. There are several different tram options to choose from (TIP: do your research prior to arriving and you will beat the rush), some included in your admission and others extra. Whatever you do, don't miss out on the team tour. The interactive museum area is great for curious children and adults. It also serves as a great educational piece on the space program. You can easily spend a few hours or more (average 3 hours I'd say). Ticket prices were $29.00 for adults.
