Having grown up in the 50’s and 60’s it was great to see all these things we heard about on the radio, then TV and magazines in real time today. A real “blast from the past”. The 747 with the piggyback shuttle by the entrance sets the stage for the many actual and mock-ups of the various spacecraft from Mercury through Gemini to Apollo and the Shuttle. The tour took us to the backup mission control, now used for training. It was where we used to watch intently while they controlled the various missions. One of the few intact and complete Saturn V’s is lying horizontally in a hanger at the rocket park. It is huge and must be seen to appreciate just how big and complex it is. There are virtually thousands of ducts, wires, tanks, switches and valves that all have to work perfectly or it was a no go or worse. It is a tribute to the scientists, engineers, workers, technicians and astronauts that such a vehicle got us to the moon and back. Just shows we can do just about anything if the will and the money is there. Very enjoyable visit.

Very nice visit in spite of the freezing weather. The Tram driver and guide were especially good to us. We travel with a family member in a wheelchair and they were super at making her, and us feel like it was no issue for the process. We took both tours. The exhibits were very nice. The food was good and priced the way all special parks are. Worth a visit, especially if you have seen Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

I arrived on Sunday the 10th and had a timed ticket for the Mission control center tour. Upon arrival we were told the tour was canceled by NASA. We were a bit disappointed and spoke with Jeremy Stark at the service desk. He was actually really kind and listened to our complaints. He tried to make it right by reserving us for the timed ticket the next day and though he wasn’t in, he had Andrew Vargas help me in lieu. Everything worked out right and I was surprised by how kind they all were. Serious commitment to service and any organization should be honored to have such dedicated employees. My wife and I got our bucket list done in visiting the space center which was a cool experience. My favorite was the rocket tour which shows you the giant rocket and all it’s stages that detach as it reaches further and further into space. On Veterans Day it was not busy at all. We upgraded to the membership level to priority board because we heard of horrible wait times from our friends but it was not bad at all for us or I imagine anyone else that day.
