This special time turns into an unforgettable experience when you witness it from horseback, traveling through quiet forests and beautiful mountain trails. That’s not to mention that at sunset everything cools down and all the birds start to sing. Trust us, it’s the best time of day to ride.

On the trail, you might see grazing cattle, native fruit trees, and even wild pigs. You’ll also have sneak peeks of the ocean below, leading up to the best part—a thrilling panoramic view from our scenic lookout. You’ll remember it for years to come.

If you are staying in the town of Laeia, Gunstock Ranch is a great choice for horseback riding. Much smaller than competing companies, I enjoyed the intimate tour (5 of us) led by Cooper. He reviewed safety instructions and how to steer our horses if need be. Very scenic, relaxing, and I loved Mogley, the horse I was with. This is a great activity especially this time of year (February) where it was cool and shaded. Cooper also provided us information about the local flora and fauna, cows, and birds along the trail. One of a kind experience to enjoy some quiet time in nature with distant scenes of the oceans and surrounding forest.

We had a great experience at Gunstock Ranch. We took our 12 and 8 year old. It was my 8 year olds first time riding on a trail alone. He was very nervous but the guide was great and the horses were very well trained. Cooper was a great guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The view was beautiful! I would definitely recommend Gunstock Ranch to others.

Views were amazing, staff were very friendly, our guide, Cooper, was great! Can’t say enough good things about our experience. We chose the sunset ride for the views, but the weather was much better too. Not too warm and no bugs. So glad we decided on this excursion!
