I booked two back to back lessons. I cancelled the second one ~40 hours ahead of time because my flight got moved up. They said I had to pay a cancellation fee for cancelling the second lesson. Not the most customer friendly, but fair enough - cancellling within 48 hours incurred a fee per their policy. Then they went ahead at charged me for both lessons at full price anyhow. The woman at the shop she she couldn't issue a refund for the difference between the lesson price and the cancellation fee because she didn't have access to the appropriate systems - but promised her boss would as soon as he got in. Except he never did and the shop didn't response to my follow up emails asking them to make good on what they said. I had to report the charge to my credit company - and they tried to fight me (they finally emailed me after the credit card company with-held payment). Ironically, they ended up sending my credit card company a receipt that confirmed I should have only been charged for 1 lesson plus a cancellation fee... so I ended up getting the money but it was a headache to go through the process. The real kicker? They short changed me on my first lesson: its marketed as a 1.5 hour lesson but we went door to door in only 1 hour flat. I didn't realize the degree it was cut short until I got back to the shop because I wasn't wearing a watch on the water Watch out, these guys will screw you.

I had a good time learning to surf. I was the best student but the instructor was patient with me. The staff at the shop were friendly and helpful.

Everything was good until we reached the sea. When I fell, my coach said “you are not listening to what I said”. I told him the difficulties I encountered and was looking for advice, he simply repeated the same sentence ever and ever again. The only way to make him continue the lesson was to say “No, I was not listening”. Then I just repeat the whole thing again without knowing how I could do better. Not sure if this was the common way to learn surfing. Anyway surfing was fun, but not the lesson.
