I enthusiastically recommend this tour, as I learned facts I had never been taught in school, or even heard of. I appreciate Philadelphia much more now, and I'm sure you will too. Book it!

The tour was amazingly conceived. As we walked past our independence history we discovered that there was a parallel black history. It opened my eyes even more to the horrors of slavery but also the triumphs of the black leaders in that time. Well done, well researched. Raina is a personable and a delight.

Raina was an excellent tour guide. This is a labor of love for her, & it shows through the extensive research she’s done to create the experience. The tour is the perfect amount of time (1.5 hours) & walking (1.5 miles) & gives what Raina calls (& I agree) a “nuanced” perspective of the USA’s contradictory history. I would recommend this experience to anyone traveling to Philly. There were also a lot of Philly natives on my tour!
