I have waited years to see this musical, since I first heard it was coming to Broadway. I was disappointed when it premiered in New Jersey, but ecstatic when I heard it was immediately coming to Broadway. The music, singing, costumes and set design are phenomenal. Stunning details that truly envelop you in the era. Jeremy Jordan’s voice was flawless. His range is a God given talent. I have seen Eva Noblezada and loved her performance in Hadestown. This is quite a different character, but she made a wonderful Daisy. If you are a fan of the book and the movies, the stage production leaves you feeling… are they trying to make it too light at times. Almost seemed it was trying to be too comedic, yet the story is very serious. One complaint about the theater, We sat in orchestra seats, row H 7-9. Our seats were absolutely freezing. Others around us were equally cold. The ceilings of course were high, but it felt as if a blast chiller was directly over us. During intermission, someone went to make it known to theater staff to please adjust it, but after intermission it almost seemed colder. Two people next to us left the theater during intermission. We assumed because it was too cold for them. We understand the theater needs to be cold for the actors, but our section was beyond normal. It made watching the show very uncomfortable, and a great distraction. It was 46 degrees outside when we left the theater. It was warmer outside than at our seats.
