We started off the cruise with dark clouds and a slight wind going, not a good sign that this was going to be a pleasant experience. While the other boat boarded guests, our captain made us stay on the dock to check the weather. To me, this was an early hint of how great of a captain we would have.
Once Captain Al cleared us onto the boat, we headed out into the harbor. Being a longtime local, he steered us away from a tourist trap mid restaurant and into a much better one. The calamari was the best I've had too! His opinions on places nearby were very helpful to those just here to visit.
Further along the harbor nearing the bridge, Captain Al gave us an interesting science lesson in the mechanics of the water moving around the bridge. He told us the history of the harbor while we got to see an awesome view from under the bridge.
Once out on the water, he put some nice music on and the sunset barely peeked through the clouds! It was an ethereal moment. He offered to take pictures of our group and was more than accommodating with our drinks and snacks. In the end, our cruise was amazing. Beautiful view, great captain, definitely an experience I recommend.
