Our Exclusive VIP whale watching tours are 2 hours long with a maximum of 12 guests. Our small groups make every seat a front row seat as you enjoy whale watching and educational talks from our marine naturalist onboard. Our inflatable rafting vessels are safe, travel quickly to find whales and a fun ride for the whole family.

See Humpback Whales that have traveled 3000 miles from Alaska to give birth and mate in the protected Maui Nui sanctuary off Lahaina where the waters are known for being warm and calm. On our whale watches we could travel anywhere from 2 to 10 miles from Lahaina, often encountering dolphins in addition to humpback whales. Guarantee whale sightings Dec-April, or go again for FREE!

We are locally owned and operated since 1982 and every ticket supports our participation in marine research projects and our role as certified first responders to whale entanglements.

Kari/Carrie and Lisa were our guides on Jan. 25, and we scored with an excellent crew! Instead of stopping for a single blow here or there, they sniffed out some activity way off near Lanai and it was worth the trip. A mommy and baby were surrounded by several males that were jostling/fighting/jousting for her favor. While most of that activity was under the surface, there were up to seven whales around us for a while, with constant activity. While the males fought, the baby played blissfully, doing breach after breach, along with other activities. For awhile we were in "whale jail", which is what our guides call it when the whales are all around you so you're not allowed to move the boat. Who would want to? We saw a ton (many tons) of activity and it was great. On the way back, we slowed down to check out another mommy and baby, but then had to head back to the Mala Wharf. Just as we were pulling away the mommy, or a nearby large male, did a fully-out-of-the-water breach! It was magnificent.

Would definitely recommend this company! We went on a few whale watching trips during this vacation with different companies and the crew at Ultimate Whale Watch went above and beyond to make our trip amazing. They were by far the most knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. My adult brother has special needs and was nervous and they were so great with him that he ended up really enjoying it because they put him at ease and went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable and happy. I only wish we could have stayed out longer. Not to mention we saw a million whales! I will definitely use Ultimate Whale Watch anytime I am able to get to Maui.

This was hands down the best part of our trip. Emma and Beth were great guides. Their excitement about what they do is really shown. They are knowledgeable about the whales and really did a great job of getting us close to the whales. I would highly recommend the Ultimate experience. If we come back we will definitely schedule another outing with them. We did the 9am excursion which was tamer than the sunrise. Emma and Beth really know where the whales are.
