The experience was enjoyable for all from a 9 year old to a 79 year old. Mike is a local boy who loves to share his knowledge of Lancaster County and the people who live there. While our experience was an immersion into the Amish farm way of life, we also learned about the Mennonites and their origins too.
The use of earphones made it very easy to hear our guide as we road through the back roads of Lancaster County and stopped at 3 farms and two stores where we had ice cream cones and pretzels and other tasty delights as well as local snacks we could purchase.
The animals at the farms were a delight for all of us to see and interact with. Even the farm dogs were friendly. We learned a lot about milk; organic, reduced fat, no fat, and how some make better ice cream than others. We're changing our milk purchase preferences.
The time went by so quickly and we all wanted to return to have a meal with our new Amish friends arranged by loKal Experiences.
