What a great tour with Scott! First we had an issue to make it to the tour, our own doing, but Scott took care of it gracefully and with true concern. Our tour was at 10:30 on March 29th. The tour group meets Scott at the Hilton with plenty of free parking. Then it's all aboard while Scott tells the group about himself and some of the background of the tour. Everyone in the group introduces themselves and where they are from which makes it more comfortable in close quarters during the 2 1/2 hour tour. The tour van was extremely comfortable compared to most others. Scott went through Waco's history as we drove through the city while mixing in all the Fixer Upper home locations and explaining the "Magnolia Effect" on the area's economy. He has a wealth of insider information for both Waco and Fixer Upper stars, Chip and Joanna. We were on the tour on a lucky day when we actually got to go inside the Three Little Pigs House that was an episode of Fixer Upper. Scott now owns the house and it is available for nightly rentals. Quite a treat for everyone that day. The tour goes by and stops at several of the Fixer Upper homes along with stops at the Harper Design's shop and Jimmy Don's metal shop. Jimmy Don was not there during our tour but when he is there, you can get a photo with him. All through the tour Scott shared his vast knowledge of all things Waco, Fixer Upper and Baylor University campus which he attended. (More stories there!) All the while Scott presented the tour with a great sense of humor and made everyone feel like family. If you are in Waco and have about three hours, you GOTTA do this tour. Scott's personality is as big as Texas and he is a knowledgeable, friendly guide. Chip Gaines would say it is almost as good as Demo Day!
