My husband and I were in a group of 7 tourists led by our wonderful guide, Brian Hodder, of Dukes Kayak Adventures. We kayaked down the Wailua River for 2.5 miles and hiked through the forest 1.5 miles to arrive at a wonderful waterfall and swimming pond. There we were served lunch by Brian and cooled off in the pond for about an hour before heading back. Brian was so knowledgeable about the history and botanical details of the area, but also made the day fun. We had a mix of ages (20s, 30s, 40s, 60s), and most of us hadn't had an adventure like this before. There were 3 double kayaks and 2 single kayaks to accommodate everyone's wishes. Brian was helpful, patient and provided a safe day. The hike was was not easy, and the telephone representative, Jennifer, adequately described what was needed for the day and what was to be expected. 8 miles and 4 hours of kayaking and hiking fun!
