We started off at the gold statue of General Sherman at 59th and 5th Avenue with our guide, Fred.
Then, we strolled along the curvy paths of Central Park's southern side. Fred gave us very interesting explanations about the conception of the park, its founders and its building. We went through (or saw) the Gapstow Bridge, the Chess and Checkers House, the Carousel, the Sheep Meadow and the Mall. Then we walked around the Lake, saw the San Remo and the Dakota where many famous people lived - and got killed... We saw the Bow Bridge, the Ladies Pavillon (where one can get married for $25 only!) and finished at the Strawberry Fields.
We also got a very good recommendation for lunch by a real New Yorker ;).
Thus, it was a very nice tour of 2h30 that made us discover some very interesting aspects of Central Park we would never have known without this tour!
