This stable was awesome for a Hawaiian horseback experience. They were great about meeting us at the bottom of the road and then guiding us up the road to their stables (normally they have a shuttle, but Covid prevents that). The road IS ROUGH, but we made it in our rental van. All of the staff were super friendly and a great mix of focus on safety AND fun when it came to pairing our ability with horses. We had one of those rainy windy days that happen in the mountains of Maui, but it did not ruin the ride at all - makes it kind of interesting ;-). The guides (Makina? and Nick) did a good job guiding us on trails, which were a mix of up and down, as well as stopping at scenic locations. I was under the impression that we would be a bit closer to the waterfalls and beach, but it really was just a scenic overlook type of situation. I rode Tonto and he was a good horse, but he STRUGGLED with all of the downhill portions. It was painfully slow. It may have been because he felt less sure of his footing on the wet ground/rocks. The guides gave us a fun opportunity at the end to run up the hill (on our horses), which a lot of organized rides don't let you do. And you didn't have to if you weren't comfortable. It was a big group of us - I'd say 12 people - but it didn't feel too crowded. Overall, a really fun experience and great staff!
