This whale watch is both reasonably priced, informational and fun! We had a wonderful time on the trip. The Captain was informative about both dolphins and whales. We saw shore birds, like egrets and cormorants, and unexpectedly saw 2 bald eagles! That was amazing.
We stopped for quite some time w/ a school, or 2 of dolphins (not porpoise, and we learned the difference.) We did see a shy humpback whale, although she did surface several times. The captain even explained how she was fishing, swirling the fish in a group, and then, lunch. We learned how humpbacks are different from other whales, like orca. They eat small fish and have baleen, not Jaw's size teeth.
When going, be sure to have sunscreen, camera and if you have them binoculars. If you don't have them, they even rent them out for $5. It's well worth the money. Also, food and drink are available on board, as well as restroom facilities.
I can't wait to take my friend from OK, out on this trip.
Be sure to ask about discounts, on the tickets. They are offered in many of the local advertising brochures. I didn't realize until I got home that my ticket also offered discounts in the their shop. That was a bummer, but as we were @ the end of the season, the prices were decent anyway.
