We took the 12 noon whale watching and naturalist boat ride. The captain and crew were as nice as can be. Unfortunately we did not see any orcas although lots of dolphins, sea lions and seals. The day was sunny, the water calm, it ended up a nice way to spend an afternoon out on the water.

We (my husband, our 3 year old son and myself) did the seaplane and whale watching cruise combo. It was all awesome! The seaplane was with Kenmore Air, they are fantastic and it was the smoothest landing I've ever experienced. It also got us from Seattle to San Juan island in under an hour (about 40 minutes total). When we got to the island we grabbed breakfast before heading out on the boat. I usually get slightly sea sick on tour boats but had no problem due to the inner island channel being protected by wind. We saw lots of orcas, a few harbor porpoises, lots of seals, birds and more. Can't wait to do it again!

We took the sea plane tour and I highly recommend if you are going to go, take this tour. It is the most memorable vacation I have ever had and was an awesome experience for my whole family. The guides were very informative and educative, they did an excellent job. We saw so many animals of all kinds, eagles, seals, sea lions, river otters ( yes, river otters) rams and deer on the islands, but the whales were the most amazing. They swam all around us and under the boat. It was indescribable. We paid for this tour thinking it was a once in a lifetime event but I was wrong because we will be back and bring friends and family with us. All our family that was with us was grown but there were children on this tour and I highly recommend 5 and up would have a ball.
