This was an amazing experience! The ladies on board are scientists so they know what to look for and have great facts and knowledge about the whales. we were able to get right next to the whales where we felt we could touch them! I recommend sitting at the front of the boat and and standing as close to the top as you can do you don’t have to walk back and forth from side to side when a whale is spotted. I don’t recommend anyone who is unstable with their feet to stand toward the front as it is very hard to remain stable with the waves even with good balance. Dress for weather as it’s about 20 degrees cooler on the water. The boat is cash only for snacks, food, and cocktails. They sell motion sickness tablets at check in, if you are not sure if you should get them, get them anyway as it can be easily nauseating. I don’t tend to get nauseous but had some uneasiness by the end of the trip. The Gloucester House is right down the road with great food and I recommend also checking out the Castle that you’ll see when you leave and come back in to port.
